Thin Line Fitness of Ohio is family-owned and friendly to first responders

Article by: Jeff Barron (Lancaster Eagle-Gazette)

MILLERSPORT − Thin Line Fitness of Ohio is certainly a family business. It is also friendly to first responders, veterans and military members.

Nick and Samantha Lewis opened the fitness center at 2430 Mill St. in 2019.

"I offer one-on-one training," Samantha Lewis said. "I recently started offering just monthly memberships. But I make it as affordable as I possibly can. I do one-on-ones, I do nutrition plans for anybody who wants some guidance on what they should eat on a daily basis that doesn't really know where to start."

The gym features a variety of workout equipment, including a barbell rack, free weights, treadmills and more.

"I pretty much have everything you can think of in a gym," Samantha Lewis said

She also offers group classes for all ages and open gym hours for local school athletes who may want to work out at Thin Line Fitness instead of their school.

"I'm hoping that I can start a mom's club for people like me who are stay-at-home moms," Samantha Lewis said. "Kind of just get something together to go for walks or try new recopies or do outside workouts in the summertime."

The couple started the business near when the COVID-19 pandemic began. Samantha Lewis said one of the reasons for opening was to give first responders a safe place to go at that time. Nick Lewis is a Reynoldsburg police officer and Samantha Lewis is a former dispatcher for that department.

"That's kind of where I still am now," Samantha Lewis said. "That's why I'm so into helping out charities that revolve around first responders and the military and veterans."

Nick Lewis said Thin Line Fitness started basically as a garage gym before expanding last year.

"As each month goes and we get a little more time we're improving it with new equipment and so forth," he said. "We're taking baby steps, but we're going in the right direction I believe."

Away from work, Samantha Lewis likes to build Legos, cook and read books.

"I like to make sure that I have no time in my day to sit down," she said.
